To strengthen the safety net in local communities where residents were struggling after the 2008 economic downturn, the John R. Oishei Foundation created the Mobile Safety-Net Team in 2009. The team assessed needs in 45 communities within Erie and Niagara Counties and worked to connect residents with services and shore up existing human service providers.
The MSNT is now partnering with the University at Buffalo’s Regional Institute to conduct a series of reports focusing on 12 communities in total, and taking an in-depth look at critical issues affecting residents and government agencies and the nonprofit human services sector.
We invite you to review each of these reports as they are made available to better inform decision-making at all levels for the strategic deployment of resources. Be sure to check back regularly for new reports.
